The IIN Area for the Promotion and Protection of Rights promotes joint work with the OAS Member States aimed to develop adequate governance concerning children's rights.

In order to achieve such adequate governance this area has identified the need for consolidating management agendas focused on:

 • A public management practice promoting a cultural change directed to the full respect for children's rights.

 • Capacity development of the institutions that are part of the Executive Power, and of organized civil society, through the improvement and/or development of various comprehensive measures for the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child [Juridical frameworks, newly created institutions (National Protection systems, Verification systems), Public Policies (Plans, Programs), Investment, Citizenship, and child participation.]
