 RECOGNITION TO MS. ELVIRA FORERO HERNANDEZ
FOR HER PERFORMANCE AS THE
ACTING VICE PRESIDENT OF THE DIRECTING COUNCIL OF THE
INTER-AMERICAN CHILDREN’S INSTITUTE

THE DIRECTING COUNCIL, 

CONSIDERING:   

1.   That, as provided for in paragraph 2 in Article 17 in the Rules of Procedure of the IIN, the position of Vice President of the Directing Council of the IIN remained vacant when Ms. Delia Del Gatto Reyes, Permanent Delegate of Chile and re-elected as Vice President for the 2004-2006 term, ceased in her role as National Director of the National Child Service (SENAME);   

2.   That, as provided for in paragraph 5 in the above mentioned Article, there was no full Regular Meeting remaining for that Vice President’s term of office, the Permanent Delegate of the next country in the order of precedence should hold  the position of Vice President; 

3.   That consequently Ms. Elvira Forero Hernández, Director General of the Colombian Institute for Family Welfare (ICBF) and Permanent Delegate of Colombia performed as the Acting Vice President until the 81st Regular Meeting, when the new authorities of the IIN Directing Council for 2006-2008 were elected;  

RESOLVES:   

To thank with a vote of applause Ms. Elvira Forero Hernández, Permanent Delegate of Colombia, for her performance as the Acting Vice President of the Directing Council of the IIN.
