ELECTION OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE DIRECTING COUNCIL
(Submitted by the Delegations of Argentina and Chile) 

THE DIRECTING COUNCIL, 

CONSIDERING:

That Article 17 in the Statute and Article 17 in the Rules of Procedure of the IIN concerning the Election of the Authorities of the Directing Council establish that every two years the Council will designate its President among its member delegates through his/her election by the majority of votes of Member States present at the time of voting;  

That the Government of Ecuador nominated its Permanent Delegate, Ms. Sara Oviedo  Fierro, National Executive Secretary of the National Child Council, as candidate to the position of President of the Directing Council of the IIN for the 2006-2008 term;  

That at the time of the election, nineteen Member States were present and duly represented;  

RESOLVES: 

To elect Ms. Sara Oviedo, Permanent Delegate of Ecuador, as the President of the Directing Council for the 2006-2008 term by unanimity and acclamation.
