RECOGNITION TO THE OAS GENERAL SECRETARIAT AND
MR. JOHN BIEHL DEL RIO, REPRESENTATIVE OF OAS TO URUGUAY AND
ACTING DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE IIN

THE DIRECTING COUNCIL, 

CONSIDERING: 

The difficult situation faced by the Office of the Inter-American Children’s Institute (IIN) due to the termination of the Director General’s term of office.

 The excellent and successful management of these circumstances by the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States and its support through the appointment of an Acting Director General and the convening of the 81^st Regular Meeting of the Directing Council where a three-candidate list was elected on the basis of which the OAS Secretary General will appoint the new Director General of the IIN. 

RESOLVES: 

To thank the General Secretariat of the OAS for its valuable and permanent support, as well as Ambassador John Biehl del Río, Representative of OAS to Uruguay and Acting Director General of the IIN.
