2005-2008 STRATEGIC PLAN AND
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE DIRECTING COUNCIL
 

THE DIRECTING COUNCIL, 

HAVING SEEN.  

The report of the Office of the Director General presenting the basis of the 2005-2008 Strategic Plan of the Inter-American Children’s Institute;  

CONSIDERING: 

That such report allows for concluding that the Inter-American Children’s Institute counts on the required work plans for each Program and that a budget has been allocated for the implementation of the draft Strategic Plan;   

That the Secretariat of the Council made this Draft Report available to all the Delegates duly in advance, either by e-mail or in hard copy;  

That the Nineteenth Pan American Child Congress to be held after the 79th Regular Meeting of the Directing Council will adopt a series of recommendations addressed to the Inter-American Children’s Institute for their inclusion in future Strategic Plans;  

That during 2004 several Delegations have contributed their valuable input for planning the activities of the Inter-American Children’s Institute,  

RECOGNIZING: 

That the Delegation of the Federate Republic of Brazil has informed this Council on the interest and willingness of its Government to have an active participation in the activities developed by the Inter-American Children’s Institute in its capacity as a specialized organization of the OAS;  

RESOLVES: 

  1. To approve the  outline of the Strategic Plan of the Inter-American Children’s Institute for the 2005-2008 period (CD/doc.19/04) as submitted by the Director General and to convene a Special Meeting of the Directing Council to be held on April 2005 in Brasilia, Brazil, in order to submit for its consideration a Strategic Plan containing the proposals of the Director General’s Office, the contributions of the member states –both made before and during this 79th Regular Meeting– and the recommendations of the Nineteenth Pan American Child Congress for the 2005-2008.
