AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE NATIONAL OFFICE OF THE OAS IN HONDURAS
AND

THE INTER-AMERICAN CHILDREN'S INSTITUTE

CONSIDERING: 

That in September 2001, the General Assembly of the Organization of American States adopted the “Inter-American Democratic Charter,” whose Article 1 states that “The peoples of the Americas have a right to democracy and their governments have an obligation to promote and defend it”; 

That one of the functions of the Office of the General Secretariat of the OAS in the Member States is to promote the priority issues on the Organization’s agenda in each country; 

That the Inter-American Children's Institute (hereinafter known as the IIN), as part of its agreement with the Unit for the Promotion of Democracy (hereinafter known as the UPD), has produced a promotional video of approximately 30 seconds in duration, intended to inform about the Inter-American Democratic Charter, in an effort to fulfill the provisions contained therein. 

The Parties hereby agree to the following: 

1.          The IIN shall provide the National Office of the OAS in Honduras with a copy of the aforementioned video, in Betacam, VHS and DVD formats corresponding to the region’s standard. 

2.        The National Office of the OAS in Honduras shall take the appropriate steps to disseminate this video in Honduras through the open-access and cable television media, and shall inform the IIN and the UPD of the actions taken. 

This Agreement is signed by Guillermo Molina, Director of the National Office of the OAS in Honduras, and Lic. Alejandro Bonasso, Director General of the IIN, in the city of Honduras on the eleventh of the month of  March, 2004.

The Director General of the IIN signs this agreement on an ad referendum basis, subject to the approval of the IIN Directing Council.
