JOINT
PROJECT BETWEEN THE
UNIT FOR THE PROMOTION OF DEMOCRACY AND
THE INTER-AMERICAN CHILDREN’S INSTITUTE
The
Inter-American Children’s Institute (hereinafter named IIN) and the Unit
for the Promotion of Democracy (hereinafter named UPD) hereby agree as
follows:
- The IIN will produce
an illustrated book containing up to 24 pages in both English and
Spanish versions, which will be similar to the ones that are being
prepared in connection with the Convention on the Rights of the Child,
as far as their content and form are concerned.
- The IIN and the UPD
each will contribute the amount of US$ 5,000 (five- thousand American
dollars) towards the preparation, on a first stage, of an edition
comprising 2000 copies in Spanish and 2000 copies in English,
including their distribution.
- The
IIN will produce a digitalized version of these books, which will be
included in the websites of the IIN and the UPD. It
will also produce a CD-ROM with graphic arts, so as to enable this
tool to be reprinted in different countries in the region.
- Documents,
either in paper or in magnetic media, will include the logos of the
UPD, the IIN and the OAS.
This
document is hereby signed by Director General of the IIN Alejandro Bonasso
and by Executive Coordinator of the Unit for the Promotion of Democracy
Elizabeth Spehar, in Washington, on the fifteenth day of March of the year
2004.
